Thousands of children of all ages are already being supported through Thrive, learning new ways of responding, improved resilience and greater ability to engage with life and learning.

Our experience over many years in the education, health and social care sectors tells us that children's emotional development can without doubt promote or hinder their learning capacity. We have seen repeated instances of out-of-control or disruptive children who have been turned on to learning using The Thrive Approach. The benefits extend well beyond the individual child to touch all those around them.

Teacher-primary The Thrive Approach can be used with all ages. Originally developed for use with primary school-aged children, the training and online tools are being used successfully to support the emotional development- and life chances- of all children from birth to adulthood.

To date, Thrive has been used to screen more than 115,000 children across more than 1,000 settings in the UK, with more than 1,500 staff trained to the level of Licensed Practitioner or above.

Results that speak for themselves

Schools that have introduced Thrive report fewer exclusions, reduced classroom disruption, improved attendance and better educational attainment. Parents report significant improvements in their relationship with their children as well as improved behaviour. The children themselves say they feel better understood and they get more out of school. They learn to love learning. With the support of Thrive training and Thrive-Online, adults learn how to help children and young people to:

  • feel good about themselves
  • know that they matter
  • become more resilient and resourceful
  • have a positive place in society
  • form trusting, rewarding relationships
  • be creative
  • be compassionate and empathetic
  • be thoughtful and self-aware
  • be productive
  • be able to overcome difficulties and setbacks
